Where are we headed?

The colourful world of yesteryears is no more
It’s survived by a bleak world of hate and killing and pain….
A life riddled with sorrow.

When love gets thin, faults get thick
There’s nobody to blame but our thinking
You, me, he and she; Us, they, never we.

Is this what life was meant to be?
Did HE mean for us to fight and kill?
It’s about time we stopped to think.

This path leads to hell
Of destruction and pain
Of loneliness and fatigue
There is no gain.

Where are we headed?
At this rate there’s no tomorrow

Just one big graveyard called the world.

...this poem delivers a masterful and powerful message about the trying times we live in - of suffering and misery, moral and ethical decay, and apathy and and divisiveness - and that unless and until, we reach out to God and make a conscious effort to change our errant ways, a desolate and gloomy future awaits us all - the ramifications of which will be certain doom.

P.S. Rukma, You Are A Revelation..!!

...wanted to write "insightful poem" instead of...dunno how it slipped my mind.

Amigo... am not stepping on your toes - and don't want to! - but, unlike a poem - which is open to interpretation - your comment is ambiguous, per se... for the written word is two dimensional.
... the 'Poet Lady' wants to make the world a better place... you see, every now and then, we come across positive role models - a force of goodness - who shine their light on others and remind us, that we can make a difference - by doing our part to make the world a better place.

Poet Lady - Thank you. You've made me a better person - You Are A 'Mensch'.
